Annual General Meeting
Please don't forget we have our AGM on Jan 18th 2012.
It will be held at the Fox & Hounds Hotel at Eggesford and starts at 7 pm so please come along and give us your support, air your views and make any comments on Branch activities.
Remember it is your Branch and the AGM gives us an opportunity for members to meet on a personal basis. The AGM also allows us to present the latest news from Head Office and of course elaborate on our plans for 2012 here in Devon.
County Shows for 2012
We will be taking stands at the Devon County Show and the North Devon Shows this year.
Full details will be announced in due course but the dates for your diaries are Devon County Show 17th, 18th and 19th May at Westpoint, near Exeter with the North Devon Show at Umberleigh Barton Farm on August 1st.
Junior Tuition Days
We plan to again hold two Junior Tuition Days in 2012.
[See event information on our Courses and Tuition page]
Dates and Venues will be announced once arrangements have been made.
Meanwhile if you or anyone you know is interested it may be helpful if they could register their interest now by contacting Lt. Col. Duncan Michie. [see Committee page]
Gift Aid and how it helps the S & T A.
If you look at the Salmon & Trout Association web site www.salmon-trout.org you will find all the information you need to register you annual membership fee for Gift Aid. By doing so the S&TA raises several thousands of pounds in revenue each year.
It costs you nothing and it helps the Association in its work to protect the future of our sport. So please look at this request. It only takes a few moments of your time and can easily be done online.
Annual Lunch 2011/2012
You may have heard we had a very enjoyable Annual lunch this year at the Arundell Arms. Once we have agreed on a venue and date for our 2012 Lunch we will of course let everyone have full information.
Views and suggestions for the 2012 Lunch will of course be welcome at the AGM.
New members
The S&TA is asking all Branches to do its best through 2102 to recruit new members to keep the total national membership at a sustainable level.
On meeting a fellow angler for the first time it can be very interesting to ask the question 'Are you by chance a member of the S&TA?' If he or she is not, suggest a visit to our Branch website to see what we are up to and then perhaps visit the Official S&TA website [www.salmon-trout.org] with a view to joining. It may sound like gentle persuasion but it can work. If of course there are not in the cyberworld please give them a phone number or address.
The Max Davies Shield 2012
As soon as we have a date and venue arranged for this very friendly and informal Event for 2012 we will be inviting all members to take part in this annual competition.
No doubt this subject will be raised at the AGM but meanwhile if you have any suggestions or input concerning this event please let us know.
New S & T A Web Site
You may of course been told direct that the S&TA now has redesigned website. We believe it is a great improvement on the previous one and if you have not already done so, we do suggest you look at it and of course recommend any of your non-member fishing friends to do so as well!!
And just one more final cast… Do come along the AGM! |
